Privacy Policy
AIteleprompter is built so that your scripts and recordings stay on your device. This policy explains the small amount of information that does reach us, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version
At a glance
- Your scripts, settings, workspaces and recordings are stored only in your browser. We never receive them.
- No account is needed. We do not run ads, and we do not sell or share personal information.
- We receive data only when you send it: a feedback message (email optional) or a license key to validate.
- Anonymous usage statistics are collected only if you allow them.
- Voice scroll uses your browser's own speech recognition. Depending on your browser, audio may be processed by your browser provider (for example Google or Apple) — see Voice scroll.
Who we are
AIteleprompter (“we”, “us”) is operated by [Legal entity name], [Registered address]. For the purposes of data-protection law, we are the controller of the limited personal information described below. You can reach us at [email protected].
This policy covers the AIteleprompter website and web app. It does not cover third-party websites we link to.
What stays on your device
The teleprompter works locally. The following is saved by your browser on your device and is not uploaded to us:
- Scripts and their formatting, workspace titles and timestamps.
- Teleprompter settings such as speed, font size, theme, mirroring and color history.
- Video and audio recordings you make, and exports you create from them.
- Voice-scroll language preferences and your monthly voice-scroll usage count.
- Your license key and its last validation status, if you have one.
- Your choice about usage statistics.
Because this data never reaches us, we cannot view, recover or restore it. It remains until you delete it in the app, clear your browser's site data, or your browser removes it (for example in a private window or when storage runs low). Please download anything you want to keep.
Information we receive
- Feedback you send. When you use the feedback form we receive your message, the website address you sent it from, and your email address if you choose to provide one. We use it to reply and to improve the product.
- License validation. If you enter a Lifetime Supporter license key, the key is sent to our license server to check that it is valid. While voice scroll is in use the check repeats at most every few minutes. We receive the key and the result, not your scripts.
- Purchase information. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Polar, acting as merchant of record. Polar collects your payment details and billing information under its own privacy policy; we receive order details such as your email address, license key and purchase status, never your full card number.
- Usage statistics (optional). If you allow them, we use Google Analytics for Firebase to count which buttons and controls are used and on which page. These events contain the name of the control, not the text you typed. If you decline, this is not loaded.
- Technical data. Like any website, our hosting and security providers process your IP address, browser type and request logs to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
What we do not collect
- The contents of your scripts.
- Your camera video, microphone audio or recordings.
- Speech transcripts from voice scroll.
- Precise location, contacts or advertising identifiers.
- Data for advertising or profiling. We do not show ads.
Camera and microphone
The app asks for camera and microphone access when you open the Record studio so it can show your camera preview and be ready to record. Voice scroll may also ask for microphone access. Your browser shows the permission prompt. The camera preview and recording are handled inside your browser and saved on your device. We never receive the video or audio.
You can revoke access at any time in your browser's site settings. The app keeps working without it; only recording and voice scroll need it.
Voice scroll and speech recognition
Voice scroll uses the speech recognition built into your browser (the Web Speech API). We ask the browser to recognize speech on your device whenever it supports that. When on-device recognition is not available — for example on Android, or when a language pack is not installed — your browser may send microphone audio to its provider's speech service to be transcribed.
To improve accuracy, a few words from the part of the script you are reading may be passed to the recognizer as hints, so they may also reach that service. The transcript is returned to the page, used only to move the text, and is not sent to us.
That processing is governed by your browser provider's policy, for example the Google Privacy Policy for Chrome or Apple's privacy policy for Safari. If you prefer that no audio leaves your device, use a fixed scroll speed instead of voice scroll.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The app relies on your browser's local storage to work:
| Storage | What it holds | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Local storage | Scripts, workspaces, settings, license status, voice-scroll usage count | Essential — keeps your work and preferences between visits |
| IndexedDB | Recordings and their details | Essential — saves takes on your device |
| Origin private file system | Recording data while it is being written, temporary export files | Essential — records long takes safely |
| Local storage | Your choice about usage statistics | Essential — remembers your decision |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Anonymous identifiers and usage events | Optional — only after you allow it |
Why we use information (legal bases)
- To provide the service you ask for — validating your license and processing your purchase (performance of a contract).
- To answer you and improve the product — handling feedback and support requests (legitimate interests).
- To understand usage — optional statistics (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
- To keep the service secure and meet legal duties — logs, fraud prevention, tax and accounting records (legitimate interests and legal obligation).
Service providers
We share information only with providers that help us run the service, under agreements that limit how they may use it:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, security and our license server.
- Polar — payments and license keys, as merchant of record.
- Google (Firebase) — optional usage statistics.
- Your browser provider — speech recognition for voice scroll, as described above. This is a service your browser provides to you, not one we control.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service. If the project is transferred to a new owner, this policy will continue to apply to the information it holds.
How long we keep information
- Feedback messages: up to 24 months, or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
- License and purchase records: for as long as your license is active and afterwards as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Usage statistics: up to 14 months, then deleted or aggregated.
- Data on your device: until you or your browser delete it — we have no copy.
Deleting your data
You can delete scripts, workspaces and recordings inside the app. To remove everything at once, clear this site's data in your browser settings. To delete feedback or license records we hold, email [email protected] from the address you used.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and we limit what we collect so there is less to protect. Your local data is as secure as your device and browser profile — anyone with access to your browser can open the app and see your scripts, so lock your device and use a separate profile on shared computers.
International transfers
Our providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including the EU, the UK and several US states — you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct it or have it deleted;
- object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent at any time;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- complain to your local data-protection authority.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. To make a request, email [email protected]; we will respond within 30 days.
Children
AIteleprompter is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the UK. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will make it clear in the app before it takes effect.
