There is nothing to install and no account to create. Your scripts and recordings are stored on your own device, not on our servers, so you can rehearse a pitch, record a YouTube intro or read notes on a Zoom call without uploading your script or your video anywhere.

How to use this online teleprompter

You can go from a blank page to a finished take in under a minute.

  1. Paste or type your script

    Click into the editor at the top of this page and paste your script, or start typing. Bold, italic, underline and color help you mark emphasis and pauses.

  2. Set the text size and layout

    Pick a font size up to 250px, adjust line height, and drag the margin guides so the text sits in a narrow column close to your camera. The eye line marks where your eyes should rest.

  3. Choose how the script scrolls

    Open Scroll mode and pick Auto scroll to let the text follow your voice, Words per minute for a fixed speed, or Scroll time to finish the script exactly on schedule.

  4. Press Play or Record

    Play reads without recording. Record opens with the camera and microphone ready after you grant browser access; a countdown gives you a moment to get ready. When you stop, play the take back and record again or keep it.

Is this teleprompter really free?

Yes. Writing scripts, fixed-speed scrolling, camera recording and export are free, with no watermark on your videos.

The one limit is voice-following Auto scroll: the Free plan includes 500 Auto scroll sessions each month. If you need more, you can add a license key for unlimited Auto scroll.

Do I need to download an app or create an account?

No. AIteleprompter runs in your web browser, and you don't need to sign up or log in.

Open the page, paste your script and press Play. The same page works on desktop, laptop, tablet and phone.

Does the teleprompter text show up in my recording?

No. The recording only contains your camera and microphone.

The script is drawn on your screen for you to read, but it is not added to the video, so viewers only see you talking.

Can I use a teleprompter during a Zoom call?

Yes. Open AIteleprompter in a separate browser window, place it under your webcam and read while you talk.

Notch mode shrinks the prompter into a strip at the top of the screen, close to the camera, so you keep eye contact. The same approach works for Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Webex.

How does a voice-activated teleprompter work?

It listens to you through your microphone and scrolls the script to match the words you are saying.

When you pause, the text waits; when you speak faster, it catches up. In AIteleprompter this is the Auto scroll mode. It uses the speech recognition built into your browser, which works best in Chrome and Edge. In browsers without it, use Words per minute or Scroll time instead.

Can I use this teleprompter on my phone?

Yes. It works in mobile browsers on iPhone, iPad and Android.

For recording, hold the phone upright with the front camera at the top and keep the text large so you can read it at arm's length.

How do I mirror or flip the text for a teleprompter rig?

Turn on Mirror in the toolbar and the text flips horizontally.

Use it when you read through a beam-splitter glass or a teleprompter mirror, so the reflected text reads normally.

What speed should a teleprompter scroll at?

Start at 110–150 words per minute, which is a natural speaking pace for most people.

AIteleprompter defaults to 110 WPM. If you know how long your video should be, set the total scroll time instead and the speed is worked out for you.

Where are my scripts and recordings saved?

On your own device, in your browser's storage.

Your scripts and videos are not uploaded to AIteleprompter. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so export any takes you want to keep.

How do I keep eye contact while reading from a teleprompter?

Keep the text as close to your camera lens as possible and read from the top of the screen.

Use Notch mode or a narrow text column under the webcam, raise the eye line near the top, and sit far enough back that your eyes barely move while you read.
